We have to ask ourselves what is going on when it comes to new devices being released? The reason we say this is because the HTC One only went up for pre-order a few days ago and already the handset has sold out on T-Mobile, and these shortages continue.
The HTC One stock issues are not just affecting T-Mobile, as the 64GB Developer Edition and the 32GB unlocked version are also out of stock on the HTC website. Thankfully, the latest Android handset is still available to purchase on AT&T and Sprint, although this will not come as any comfort to those of you who want the HTC One on T-Mobile.
It’s not certain if the HTC One selling out so quick is due to popularity, or if there were not enough units ordered in the first place? However, there does seem to be a pattern because we have seen the iPhone run low on stock quickly, even though Apple know that these devices will be popular.
Most recently the Surface Pro ran out of stock quickly, although this is more likely to be far less units being ordered in the first place, as sales have not been too impressive in its first month following its release. However, sales are expected to pick up as we enter the busy summer period.
We could be reading too much into this, because HTC One sales could have been better than expected, which is why these handsets are out of stock on the HTC website and T-Mobile. However, if they were as popular as we hope, then how come AT&T and Sprint still have stock left?
No doubt more stock will arrive shortly, but this is bad news for HTC, as Samsung is ready to pounce with the imminent release of their Galaxy S4.
