The Google X Phone is expected to make its debut during the I/O event next month, but in the meantime we feel the need to discuss the many rumors in regards to those leaked specs. However, one thing we do know, the Motorola X Phone specs (as it is also known) will be high-end and so will come at a premium price.
Whatever the handset will be called we know both Google and Motorola need to deliver, which means offering some of the best specs from any smartphone will be key to its success.
Last month we went over some of the most recent leaked specs for the Motorola/Google X Phone, which could consist of a 4.8-inch display, quad-core 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, a powerful 4000 mAh battery, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and also a feature that has made the Sony Xperia Z so popular, which is being water-resistant.
Phones Review looked at how the Motorola brand could have an effect on Google’s ability to pass the X Phone off as a top-tier smartphone, like they would have been able to with a Nexus branded device. We are not saying Motorola is inferior in any way; it’s just having the name Nexus on a handset would have made it much easier to market.
It’s pretty obvious Motorola will want to prove everyone wrong, and so will endeavor to give the Google X Phone some premium specs, while at the same time trying to keep the price as competitive as possible.
However, we have a feeling the price will be a little higher than the likes of the Nexus 4, which could become a bit of an issue, although if the hardware is nothing like we have seen before then maybe people will be willing to pay a little extra?
