Attention all Battlefield fans now, as it looks like the highly anticipated Battlefield 4 release date has been revealed early, before EA’s expected announcement at E3 2013 in June. More surprisingly, it looks like the information may have been spilled by none other than Microsoft themselves.
If you watched the epic Battlefield 4 17 minute gameplay at GDC 2013 recently, you would have seen EA confirm that the game will definitely be out in 2013 – but only revealing a ‘Fall 2013’ release date for the moment. We then presumed that the full release date would be disclosed at E3, but Microsoft may have made an absolute boo-boo with their latest Xbox 360 blog entry.
Posted just a few days ago, Microsoft let slip on their blog that Battlefield 4 would have an Xbox 360 release date of October 29. At the time of writing now, we can tell you that the information revealing the release date has now been removed from the Xbox blog listing, suggesting that they made a fatal error that EA isn’t too happy about.
With a likely October 29 release date in sight, it also poses various other thoughts as well that we have. October 29 could even be the same release date for the Sony PS4 version of the game and if that’s the case, then it could also be the PS4 console launch date as well in the US.
On top of that, Assassin’s Creed 4 also has a confirmed release date of October 29, so we could be be looking at one monumental day in October for not only the release of two of the biggest games of 2013, but also the same day as a next-generation console launching.
There’s also the thought of EA getting a few weeks head start on a possible Modern Warfare 4 release in November as well, which is also very interesting to think about for those planning to buy both games. Considering that Microsoft has removed the information, you should keep a close eye on this indeed.
It can’t be an early April Fool’s joke can it? October 29 for PS4, Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed 4 launches – give us your reaction on this.
