The Lenovo ThinkPad Helix release has been delayed for a little while now, but you’ll be happy to learn the company has narrowed the release window down by stating April will be the month the tablet come ultrabook will be made available.
It’s nice to see Lenovo finally offer us an official release date for their ThinkPad Helix via Twitter, even though we don’t have a specific date in April as yet. However, it does give you the chance to decide if this will be the device for you in a month certain to see other such devices released.
Lenovo say this is only the date for the US market, so other markets will have a while longer to wait, which is a little disappointing if you live in Europe or other parts of the world hoping to get their hands on the Windows 8 tablet with detachable keyboard.
We do know the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix price will be $1,499 and is expected to be ideal to work on AT&T’s LTE network. There is a concern in regards to the cost of this hybrid tablet, as it seems rather a lot for what you get, but we have to remember there are potential consumer and business users out there who believe this is just what they need.
However, we also thought the same with the Surface Pro, but sales have not been as good as Microsoft had hoped, although we have yet to see official sales figures. There are some people out there who believe the UK delay of the ThinkPad Helix is a great idea, as it gives another market the chance to beta test the device, much like the UK has done with the BlackBerry Z10.
