With the release of the LG Optimus G Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S4 (see video review roundup) looming we thought we would see how the two devices compare, and before you say that the former is more compatible with the Note 2, it’s only fitting that we should see how it competes with the upcoming flagship Galaxy smartphone.
It’s obvious that these two smartphones will compete with each other because they will release around the same time, but the smart choice would be to say that the S4 will have the edge, well if we were to go on the success of the S3.
While the Optimus G Pro (compared to the Xperia Z) has a larger screen compared to the Galaxy S4, 5.5-inches and 5-inches respectively, it does have the lowest pixel density as well. Samsung’s latest and greatest is to also come with Gorilla Glass 3 to help offer far more protection than before, we wonder how long it will be before we see these two pitted against each other for a drop test?
The S4 comes with Samsung’s latest version of the Exynos Octa processor while the Optimus G Pro sports the 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 instead. Samsungs upcoming Galaxy handset also beats LG’s newest smartphone in the storage department, which is up to 64GB compared to 32GB, although both supports up to 64GB of microSD external storage.
Both are evenly matched with their cameras, 13-megapixel to the rear and 2-megapixel at the front for the S4 and 2.1 for the G Pro. However, where LG’s handset will excel next to the Samsung’s upcoming device is battery power, because the G Pro has a enormous 3,140mAh compared to 2,600mAh for the S4.
You can see the strengths and weaknesses of each handset, but which of the two gets your vote?
