Rumors in regards to the next iPhone and also the iPad mini seem to be all over the place at the moment, with some people suggesting that the release schedule is a little chaotic. However, should we be surprised by this as it seems to be the same every year, so how can we expect 2013 to be any different?
Apple’s next smartphone is expected to be the iPhone 5S, but those rumors suggesting that they will skip ahead to the iPhone 6 will not go away, and for good reason, which we will get into a little later. Then there is the iPad mini 2 release schedule as well, because if what we are hearing is true then this may not go down well with those who have only just bought the current generation.
From what we are hearing the next iPhone, which some consumers believe will be the iPhone 6 (with the iPhone 5S being the cheaper, smaller model) could be released in August. However, this date does not make sense, but then again looking over the complete iPhone release schedule over the years it does seem a little chaotic.
However, we still believe that Apple will stick to their current release cycle and the iPhone 5S will be their next handset, with the iPhone 6 release coming in 2014 – although Apple could surprise us like they did with two iPad tablets last year.
Speaking of the iPad mini 2, the same report would have us believe that the iPad mini 2nd generation will have a release date in April. If this were true then this means that it would have only been five months since the current model was released. While we know Apple did a similar thing with their full-size tablet last year, to think that they would do the same again would be a little foolish – especially when you consider the outcry from their customers back in 2012.
Now that Apple has another iOS device in their portfolio there is going to be far more release dates for their devices being thrown around, although it’s not like this is anything new. And let us face it, if Apple were going to release an iPhone 5S and an iPhone 6 this year this will go down very well with most consumer and business users. However, they may not feel the same if a new iPad mini was released so soon after the current version. Having said that, it would not take them long to appreciate a new model with a Retina screen and improved hardware.
