The anticipation for Battlefield 4 is really starting to reach fever pitch it seems. After confirmation of a next-gen release for the game in 2014, it looks like EA may be ready to show off their first build of BF4 at GDC 2013, which takes place later this month in San Francisco at the Moscone Center.
As some of you may be aware, EA has already been showing off the game behind closed doors, to certain individuals such as GameStop execs. The build is apparently ‘amazing’ and we’re guessing this is the same build that is now rumored to be in the pipeline for GDC, an event which starts on March 25 and runs through until March 29.
IGN has been sent an invitation to the event, and it is the nature of the flyer that is the big talking point here. What you see above is the image in question and the color theme of the flyer has led to speculation that it is Battlefield related, since it bears a resemblance to the official box art for Battlefield 3.
Considering that DICE already has a version of BF4 ready to show, it would seem logical that this invite is teasing the next game – although it would obviously be a bit of a surprise that it could be coming before E3 2013 in June. As far as we’re aware, GDC was used to unveil Battlefield 3 for the first time though, so that is another potential nail in the coffin to consider.
Will we finally see an elusive dinosaur mode for Battlefield 4 as teased in recent End Game discoveries? We can’t wait to see the quality level of Battlefield 4 on next-gen hardware, but it’s very likely that if we do get a surprise reveal at the end of the month – it will be the PC version that we see.
Are you pumped up for Battlefield 4 and still regularly playing Battlefield 3? If so, let us know what you would like to see for the next game.
