Having heard so many rumors in regards to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in recent weeks, it was finally nice to hear some official news at MWC. The first thing that you will notice is how much it looks like the Note 2, although an oversized version. If you were in the market for a device that would sit nicely between the Note 2 and the 10.1 tablet then the 8.0 would be it.
Looking over the specifications of the Galaxy Note 8.0 it’s clear that there are two main rivals that Samsung are going after, and they are the iPad Mini and Nexus 7. It was only a matter of time before reviews started to appear on YouTube, and we have just found this video review that compares the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the Apple iPad Mini and the Nexus 7.
All have their good and bad points, and their varying specs is why the price of each of these tablets differ as well. We do love how this quick comparison video review begins, where it’s like he is dealing some cards.
In the video it’s pointed out that both the Nexus 7 (see how the Nexus 7 stacks up against the HP Slate 7) and the iPad mini have a square approach to their tablets, whereas Samsung has gone for the rounded look. We won’t bother running through the specs because it’s far better to watch the video for that, but we can’t help pointing out that the Note 8.0 has four times the amount of RAM when compared to the iPad mini.
Samsung has yet to announce the price of their new tablet, but we do expect it to be cheaper than the iPad mini, but not certain if it will be cheaper than the Nexus 7. The release date for the Note 8.0 is expected sometime in the second quarter.
