Although some critics have given the BlackBerry Z10 a lukewarm reception (although Stephen fry loves it) there’s no denying that UK sales have been pretty impressive, nothing like that of a Galaxy handset or iPhone, but still better than expected. We already knew that consumer and business users were able to get their hands-on a black and also a white version, but we now have news that a red Z10 is available.
However, it’s not all good news because it’s reported that this is to be a Limited Edition model because this BlackBerry Z10 will be restricted to those elite developers who helped to make the new BB10 device possible because of the apps they helped to build. The public will want to get their hands on this new color option, although we have to point out that this BlackBerry Z10 has lost its rubberized back.
If there was to be a public release of the red Z10 then BlackBerry will have to bring the rubberized rear cover back because it is what makes the design of the handset more unique when compared to other handsets on the market, although there are a few that do share in this design, but not too many.
There are to be 12,000 of these limited editions Z10 handsets and you’ll be pleased to know that BlackBerry has extended the deadline to claim these red smartphones so that new developers who create even better apps can have a chance to claim one. If you see someone walking down the street with a red Z10 then you know they have helped to bring you an array of great apps to BlackBerry 10 – unless they managed to grab one on eBay.
