We have some bad news for those of you looking to pick up the 8GB Nexus 4 in the US. We’ve now entered February and if you thought that stock troubles would start to ease up, it looks like you’re wrong as the 8GB version of Google’s latest flagship smartphone is still being met with delay after delay in relation to shipping times.
After the initial Nexus 4 crisis in which all Nexus 4 inventory was sold out, Google recently placed the device back on their Play store with a healthy status, with both the 8GB and 16GB models now available to buy for those that didn’t have the chance to snap one up in November.
If you opt for the 16GB Nexus 4 in the US, you’ll be able to purchase the device directly from Google for $349 and face a wait for 1 to 2 weeks delivery time. While this is long enough for most consumers, it appears that Google are still having big problems keeping up with demand for the highly sought after 8GB version.
Available for just $299, Google has now updated the Play store with a confirmation that all new orders face a minimum wait of 3-4 weeks, meaning that it could even be the best part of a month until you actually receive your Nexus 4 at your home from when you first ordered it. It’s obviously not an ideal situation for all concerned and it may just make you consider your purchase again, especially with rumors of a Google X phone from Motorola around the corner, which is more than likely going to top the Nexus 4 in hardware specifications.
