During CES 2013 Sony deiced to show off two of their new ultrabooks, the Sony Vaio T14 and T15, although at the time we only had limited details. However, because these devices will now be shipping tomorrow all the particulars have finally be revealed, such as pricing and detailed specs and from what we see they are pretty impressive.
Sony’s Vaio T15 will comes with a 15.5-inch display and 3rd-generation Intel Core processors will be doing all the legwork. There are three options available to you as reported by Engadget, the Core i3-3227U, i5-3337U and i7-3537U. Features for the i3 model are to include 4GB of RAM, HD graphics 4000 and 500GB hard drive plus 24GB hybrid hard drive. The i5 model has 6GB or RAM while the i7 version not only comes with an increased 8GB of RAM but also 256SSD and a Blu-ray player. Price ranges from $770 to $1,400.
The Availability of the Sony Vaio T14 on the Sony Store and Best Buy shows that there are to be two models, both of which have the Intel i5 CPU. The first will come with 500GB + 24GB HHD, 6GB of RAM and Intel HD graphics 4000. The other model offers the same storage choice; but will have 8GB of RAM. The prices are $900 and $930 respectively. As ever there are several upgrade options, so expect these prices to increase.
These prices do seem pretty crazy and proves that there is plenty of life left in ultrabooks, as we’re sure that many consumers will consider one because of the aggressive pricing. However, some would say that when you look at these pricing options Microsoft’s Surface Pro is a much better choice, but would you agree with that assumption?
