It’s easy to know just which two flagship phones Samsung will release a little later this year (Galaxy S4 and Note 3) but trying to predict Apple’s devices is a much tougher task. The smart choice would be to say the iPhone 5s, but since Apple shocked us with the release of the iPad 4 and mini last year anything can happen.
There have been several rumors that Apple could release three new iPhone models in 2013, with the cheap iPhone being just one of them. Now we know that we have heard rumors on a low-cost iPhone before, but this would be the perfect time for Apple to release one, although they could market the current model at a lower price when they release a new model later this year?
The model we are most interested in is the iPhone Plus (Math), which is said to come with a 4.94-inch display. However, we’ve found an interesting article that believes that this will not be the premium iPhone but rather one that can compete with the bigger Android tablets, which they have compared alongside the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Note 2 just to show you a size perspective.
One of the toughest tasks would not be for Apple to offer a screen of this size on a new iPhone but rather for the app developers, because they could have a touch task getting their apps to fit the larger screen. However, it’s explained in the source above that Apple could just take the Retina display from the iPad mini and then give them the same resolution as an iPhone. If they stuck with the same pixel dimensions as the iPhone then app developers would not need to make any changes.
Some iPhone faithful would ask why Apple would want to increase the size of the iPhone yet again when they did that last year, but it’s obvious to so many others that a larger iPhone is still needed if they hope to battle it out with the likes of the Galaxy S4 and the upcoming Google X Phone later this year.
