Update MacBook Air and Pro connectivity with DualRole

By Updated on

Owning a MacBook Air or Pro is certainly something to be proud of and while Apple has done a great job in the design and performance of these devices, we can’t help notice that they do have one flaw, and that is the lack of an Ethernet port. You can get around this by getting yourself a USB adaptor at a cost (which once came free) although this will take up one of your USB ports.

However, there is a way to update that issue with a neat little gadget from Kanex called the DualRole. Many of you with Apple devices will know that Kanex make a variety of accessories for Mac and iOS devices. This latest product from them has 3 USB ports a Gigabit Ethernet port and also a 5V wall power adapter.

The DualRole offers the latest USB 3.0 support, which allows you to transfer files faster than ever, although some would say not as impressive as Thunderbolt. Having these different ports will give you far more options and would be more of a worthwhile investment compared to the USB to Ethernet connection.

If you do own a MacBook Air or Pro and spend most of your time at home or in the office, then this is not for you because chances are you always use a Wi-Fi connection. However, if you are always on the move then you should truly consider the DualRole Gigabit Ethernet and 3 USB port adapters.

This cool little accessory will cost you $69 in the US and £59 in the UK from the official website, which is around £12 more expensive when you take the conversation into consideration.
