We was already made aware that Virgin Media’s WiFi for the London Underground was not going to be free any longer; well that day has finally come and from today certain members of the public will now have to pay for the service. If you are an O2 or Three network customer then this service will now come at a cost.
It’s not just those two networks affected by this but also the other companies who share those networks, such as Giffgaff and Tesco Mobile. To get access to the Virgin Media London Underground WiFi those networks already mentioned will have to pay a fee of £2 per day, or £5 per week or £15 each month.
However, if you are a Virgin Media, EE or Vodafone customer then this service will still remain free to you, although you will need to sign up to the service as to not incur charges, which you can do HERE.
It’ll be interesting to see if those who now have to pay for the London Underground WiFi service will want to because we already know how terrible the service can be. There are many times when your connection will drop as well as taking far longer than you would expect for a page to load. However, it’s far better than carrying an actual copy of the Metro with you.
