It is turning out to be an eventful week as far as unreleased smartphone leaks are concerned. We have been witnessing a multitude of BlackBerry 10-related leaks recently, followed by various information on various Galaxy products from Samsung. Now we’re starting to see some Apple related rumors leak out at last, or in this case – alleged component parts of the elusive iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 phones.
It’s fair to say that a new iPhone is coming this year, but the interesting debate so far is whether it will be the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 and whether Apple will release more than one variant in reference to rumors suggesting that a cheap model may also arrive at the same time as well.
You can always count on China to provide some early component leaks before any one else, and this week we have rumors suggesting that speaker parts for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 have already been located. The photos have been uploaded by this French website, although it’s interesting to note that they’ve since updated their article to remove the photos at the authors request.
It’s not hard to find these images elsewhere though and you can see that the alleged iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 speaker parts are similar in shape to the speaker connector that is included inside the iPhone 5. Considering that the images have now been removed from the French source, is that an indication that these are genuine parts that we’re looking at here?
If there was one area that we would love to see upgraded for the next iPhone, it is definitely in the sound department. We see HTC provide amazing sound quality on their new smartphones thanks to the Beats Audio deal, and it would be great to see Apple strike a similar deal with a leading sound specialist.
One of the speaker grills is completely busted on our old iPhone 4, so we’d also like to see a bit of reinforcement added around the speaker area as well to protect it from damage. It’s early days yet but do you think we’ll see both an iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 in 2013?
