Making its debut in North America on the 2013 Toyota Avalon Limited, as part of a technology package, the wireless cell phone charger will be the first of its kind with an integrated Qi-compatible chip without an added sleeve. Images of the in-car installation can be seen on the Global Denso website along with an explanation of the charger, which is designed to meet the global Qi standard ensuring Qi-compatibility with phones and chargers.

Many future smartphones from this year onwards will have integration with the Qi-compatible chip, and DENSO has developed applications that coordinate with smartphones using an information system that makes use of the onboard navigation screen thus allowing users to display and operate smartphone applications.

As the company continue to develop more smartphone friendly products for vehicles this improves safety and ensures a safe driving environment. Have you been waiting for this kind of technology to assist your driving experience by keeping your cell phone fully charged in transit?
