It seems the whole world is waiting for Samsung’s inevitable Galaxy S4 announcement within the next few weeks. We previously told you that the reveal could take place after February’s MWC 2013 expo at a separate event in March, but now we have some specific information on the features packed inside the next-generation Galaxy phone. More specifically, hints that Samsung are planning to expand battery life in a big way.
First of all, it’s no secret to say that the Galaxy S3 is a great phone. It is included with a 2100mAh battery and while that is satisfactory for most, others have had to look for third-party juice packs to boost battery life a little further at the expense of some added bulk.
Samsung are obviously aware that battery life may have been a potential issue for some on the Galaxy S3, which is why it’s great to hear that the Galaxy S4 may be equipped with a much more substantial 2600mAh battery instead. SamMobile has claimed that this is a confirmed feature of the Galaxy S4, while also revealing that the device apparently has a codename of ‘Altius’.
Another exciting feature that is set to play a big part for the Galaxy S4, is the addition of wireless charging which is also thought to be a confirmed specification. We told you how the device may be announced on March 22, but now additional information has teased that a potential release could happen on April 15 – still a rumor at this point remember, especially when Samsung dates are always changing all the time.
A Galaxy S4 with a 2600mAh battery sounds great to us. Is it the kind of capacity that you would also be happy with, or are you still expecting more along the lines of the Droid RAZR MAXX which featured a monster 3300mAh battery?
