A new Automated Indoor Vehicle known as the Adept Lynx released by Adept Technology is a self-navigating AIV that is specially designed for moving materials around in challenging environments. The special mobile robot has the ability to navigate through confined passageways and move around unplanned obstacles in peopled locations, without such things as floor magnets or navigational beacons.
The Lynx AIV can save users up to 15% in deployment costs and with its intuitive user interface it can be customized for various applications along with payloads by integrators, distributors, and users. Unlike traditional AGVs, the Lynx requires no facility modifications, according to Rush LaSelle the VP and general manager of mobile robots at Adept Technology.
