We have some promising news for those of you who are still praying for a PC release of Rockstar’s highly anticipated GTA V title. The developer has so far only committed to a release on Xbox 360 and PS3, but fans are still hoping that a PC version will follow once the game releases this Spring.
Now there is real cause for optimism, as a PC version has shown up online available for pre-order on the French version of Amazon. While early retailer listings can often turn out to be incorrect, the likes of Amazon France and Amazon Germany are notorious for providing legitimate information a little earlier than expected.
At the time of writing, the pre-order page is still live and you can take your chances with an early pre-order for 50 euros. Although Rockstar hasn’t said anything regarding a PC version yet, it is highly expected that a console port will follow once the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions have been out for a certain number of months.
The PC version of GTA IV released over six months later than the console versions of GTA IV, so we have a feeling that the same pattern will follow and fans shouldn’t get too disappointed just yet. Despite that, it seems that many of you are not taking your chances and have reached out to Rockstar to really get the message across.
A petition for a PC GTA V release is really gaining momentum now, with almost 150,000 signatures received on this website – giving Rockstar no choice but to sit up and listen. It was a similar story for a PC version of Dark Souls and that particular petition worked, so you never know what will happen.
Are you sweating over a PC release for the game, or are you quietly confident that it will come out around six months later as we saw with GTA IV?
