It has been an extremely frustrating wait for Skyrim players on PS3, but now we have the news that you have all been waiting to hear. Bethesda has finally confirmed that Dawnguard will be releasing on the PS3 console, and will be out sometime in February along with Dragonborn which will arrive first and also Hearthfire as well – finally bringing the PS3 version of the game up to speed with the Xbox 360 and PC platforms.
While that is fantastic news in itself, there is more good news in store for PS3 gamers. Bethesda has also announced that Dragonborn, Hearthfire and Dawnguard will each be available with a 50% discount on the PlayStation Store when they arrive, which we’re guessing is Bethesda’s way of saying sorry for all of the problems.
There was a moment when it looked likely that Dawnguard would never be released on the PS3, but we’re glad to see that Bethesda has managed to work hard internally to solve the problems and bring a smile to the faces of PS3 owners at last. As most of you know, Dragonborn will be available on PS3 first and Bethesda has confirmed that this will be happening at the beginning of February.
They also confirmed that Hearthfire and Dawnguard will be available at some time during February, so it looks like it is going to be a month to really fall back in love with the world of Skyrim if you previously moved away in frustration. The 50% discount is a very nice touch indeed and we have a feeling that a lot of you will be satisfied with the outcome.
Look forward to solid release dates for the three DLC expansions soon, and possibly new information on the rumored next expansion ‘Redguard’ as well – we have a feeling that Bethesda will announce it next week. If you are a Skyrim player on PS3, give us your reaction to the news that Dawnguard is finally on the way to the console.
Is it time to forgive Bethesda now and continue playing their games?
