It’s amazing just how many third-party accessories are available for tablet devices and just when you thought those ingenuous developers could not come up with something different, we then hear of the KUBI motorized tablet stand. This great new gadget is for 7.9-inch-10.6-inch tablets, although KUBI thought that they would show off the stand with an iPad in their demo video.

Using a tablet is far easier than a laptop when you need to make a video call, but there are still times when holding a tablet can become tiresome. As you know there are a great number of tablet stands already on the market making that job easier, but if you feel the need to move around while taking your video call then you have to pick up the device and then take it with you.

The KUBI motorized tablet stand can rotate and pivot by use of a remote control, it will not do a complete turn but the stand does offer a 300 degree turn and a 90 degree tilt, which gives users a more natural experience. The tablets connect to the stand via Bluetooth so no unsightly wires to get tangled up while the device rotates.

What we like about the stand is the fact that you can place an iPad mini on there or even a Microsoft Surface tablet. We had to laugh at the image above because it’s like the evolution of man, but just with the KUBI stand instead. This is currently a kickstarter project and while Indiegogo shows that just $28,625 has been achieved of the needed $100,000 with 22 hours left to run, a $50,000 contribution has been made outside of Indiegogo, although that still leaves a little over $20,000 left to raise.

If the project does go ahead then the KUBI stand will cost $199.
