GPS trackers at CES 2013: Meet I’m Here

By Updated on

Last year saw a new company start up named i’m with their first product being the i’m Watch and following on from its success the Italian company is ready for another new product called i’m Here, which is a GPS tracker for Android smartphones. The new tracker was unveiled during CES 2013 last week and is small enough to store in many of your items so you know where they are at all times.

The possibilities for this device are endless because you could even hide the GPS tracker in your vehicle and not have to pay a company a huge amount of money each year or month, so that you can keep track of your vehicle. However, the i’m service isn’t free because following the upfront cost of $169 for the device you will have to pay $0.05 for each search, although you do get 200 free searches to begin with.

While this is the most interesting GPS tracker from CES, it’s reported that Trakdot will be released in March. Many consumers will prefer this options because the device will cost just $49.95 and a further $8.99 to activate it. However, you will need to pay a $12.99 annual fee for the service, which isn’t too expensive.

There is a downside to this saving though, and that is the fact that the Trakdot is larger than i’m Here and could be found more easily if you are trying to conceal the device. The release date for i’m Here is expected to be sometime in May and you can register your interest for the small GPS tracker here.
