Just like previous rumors about ZTE phones, we can’t help but be impressed by what we are being promised from the ZTE Grand S and the expected specs. The phone will officially be revealed at CES 2013, but thanks to a few leaked photos and some details shared with the Chinese press it seems that the 5-inch ZTE Grand S will pack some decent hardware by any means.
MyDrivers has published a number of photos in relation to the ZTE Grand S, and they report that the smartphone/phablet will include a 13MP rear camera, 1920×1080 touchscreen at 5-inches and will be just 6.9 mm thin. These specs are official thanks to ZTE sharing them with press in China, but we can also expect further details to be confirmed during CES next month.
The other ZTE Grand S specs should include 2GB of RAM, a 2,500 mAh battery, 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, and the form factor should be built from some sort of ceramic material. These latter details are rumors of course, so we’ll have to wait until CES 2013 to get the full list of specifications.
Samsung holds the current crown for the 5-inch plus range, which is thanks to the success seen with the Galaxy Note 2. ZTE’s Grand S looks to be the thinnest 5-inch smartphone/phablet with a HD screen, so we’ll have to wait to see if the Galaxy Note 3 can produce something thinner than 6.9 mm. It is also worth pointing out that some people won’t want such a large display with a very thin form factor, although after using the iPad mini for a few weeks we can’t see why not.
Do you prefer a thinner 5-inch phablet? The ZTE Grand S should see a price of around 2,799 Yuan, which is about $450. Keep connected to PR as we confirm the finer details during CES in January.
