The Samsung Galaxy S4 rumors are really starting to heat up now and we could have seen the first bit of official movement from Samsung this week. You’ve had to deal with Galaxy S4 spec whispers for a few weeks now, but now we have the first potential sighting of the Galaxy S4 GT-I9400 model in a benchmark test.
Earlier this week, we told you about the rumors referencing production problems for the Galaxy S4 display screen. The company are thought to be in the process of making a 5-inch high definition display, which has a ppi of 441 and could end up being OLED based.
We’ve even heard some details on the possibility of the Galaxy S4 featuring a flexible diplay, which would certainly turn heads if they were to show this to the world at CES 2013. With the apparent display problems aside though, it appears that Samsung has already started some secret tests for their device, with an unknown GT-I9400 showing up in a Nenamark benchmark test.
The Galaxy S3 has a model number of GT-I9300 don’t forget and according to SamMobile who has provided the benchmark, Samsung were also apparently testing that device prior to release in December as well – meaning that they could be following a strict pattern with their next-gen Galaxy S4.
If this turns out to be true, then it also looks like Samsung has done a bad job at trying to disguise the S4 as a lesser known device. Details supplied with the benchmark states that the device has a screen resolution of ’800×480′, which obviously has no chance at all of featuring on the actual Galaxy S4 when it eventually comes to light.
We also see a dual core 1.2Ghz processor listed as well at the bottom of the benchmark, but again this isn’t an accurate spec for the Galaxy S4, as we all know that the device is going to be featuring a quad-core processor at the very least – maybe even an outside shot for Samsung’s rumored 8-core processor as well, a distant shot we must add though.
The Galaxy Note 2 is clearly the flavor of the month at the moment among consumers, but are you already starting to get excited about a potential successor to the S3? Let’s hope this benchmark doesn’t prove to be a fake and that we’ll have more juicy details to share with you soon.
Considering that the Galaxy S3 is already an amazing device, let us know what you need to see in the S4 to warrant an upgrade.
