BlackBerry 10 London with iPhone 5 similarities

If you are excited about the upcoming and imminent arrival of BlackBerry 10, you are going to love these early pictures that have been leaked, seemingly showing one of the first BlackBerry 10 devices out of a rumored two that will launch in January next year. One of the devices is thought to be called the BlackBerry London and based on the pictures we see, there is a lot of design similarity with Apple’s iPhone 5 – not that this is a bad thing.

The BlackBerry London is rumored to be the first device in RIM’s new L-Series lineup of BlackBerry 10 devices, which the company hopes will revitalize the company’s fortunes and give them a boost in market share that they surely need to get back competing with Android and iOS.

We’ve seen the pictures and we think on early impressions, the device looks fantastic. It looks like RIM are giving BlackBerry phones a complete makeover and the 4.2-inch BlackBerry London could be the device that a lot of consumers take interest in at the end of January – RIM’s expected BB10 deadline.

The image above has come courtesy of CrackBerry and shows what the London looks like when paired up alongside the now-ancient BlackBerry Bold 9700. RIM’s old guard certainly looks outdated compared to this stylish new model and early BlackBerry London specs suggest that it is going to be competitive as well – maybe with the iPhone 5 at least.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the device is going to have a quad-core processor like the current slew of Android handsets right now. Instead, the London may come with a dual-core processor on board, along with an 8 megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and not to make the HTC Droid DNA mistake – a microSD card slot as well for expandable memory.

Don’t be disappointed about a dual-core chip if that turns out to be true, as the iPhone 5 is still a very fast device which still runs on a dual-core based processor don’t forget – it’s not always about quad-core. The real focus we think is going to be on whether the BB10 OS is up to part – the hardware can then be improved on for future L-Series releases year on year.

We may well see a second L-Series device which has a physical QWERTY keyboard – going back to RIM’s roots. Having seen this leaked picture though, would you prefer the London instead? We can’t wait to see this device announced officially – consider us intrigued.

I would welcome this…RIM does emailing better than everybody else. with RIM you get your messages and emails minutes before everybody else. Hurry Blackberry, I will personally go back. (I will get a Ipad mini still LOL)

Might want to look at the November 2011 leak of the Blackberry London. Waaaaay before the iPhone 5. If anything Apple ripped off RIM with the duotone look.

The QWERTY version is part of the N line (Nevada) and I am really waiting for that leaked photo. Not that I dislike the “ancient” look of the Bold but what can you really change except screen size…and then by how much?

Why is there so much bezel space?!?! I don’t get it – Horrible design. I want more screen, not plastic covering.
