Were you under the assumption like everyone else that the Black Ops 2 zombies Nuketown map was exclusive to the “Hardened,” “Care Package” and “Digital Deluxe” editions of Black Ops 2 only? If the answer is yes, you’ll probably be pleased to hear that Activision is offering an alternative route into Nuketown zombies for those that opted for the standard edition of the game.
Those of you who did fork out the extra money on a special edition just to play this map, you may want to look away now. It turns out that if you buy a DLC season pass for Black Ops 2, you will gain access to Nuketown zombies as well, as a free bonus. We’ve already seen Nuketown zombies in action and it looks like a very fun experience indeed, so it’s nice to see Activision giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy it.
We’re not sure what this means for Black Ops 2 and Call of Duty Elite, but for now, the DLC platform on offer will now be known as the Season Pass. Activision has detailed a $49.99 package that will include four DLC map packs, an in-game ‘calling card’ and of course access to Nuketown zombies.
The DLC Season pass will be available in December, but only to Xbox 360 owners first – surprise surprise. Black Ops 2 DLC is going to be timed exclusive to Xbox 360 once again, and it will also apply to the Nuketown zombies map as well. On the plus side for those who feel hard done by after buying either the Hardened, Care Package or Digital Deluxe versions of the game, you will now have a month of Nuketown zombies exclusivity to enjoy, before DLC Season Pass holds are able to get their hands on it.
Does this mean that there is only going to be four main DLC packs for Black Ops 2, and would you be satisfied if this is confirmed to be true? Let us know if you now regret picking up one of the more expensive versions of the game, after finding out that other players can get the Nuketown zombies map as well.
What happens to Call of Duty Elite now then – saved for Modern Warfare 4?
