We have a nice Black Ops 2 teaser to treat you with now, as with just days to go until the big release date, we have images to show you of all 14 Black Ops 2 multiplayer maps, showing off a great variety of locations and environments.
The game is not launching until November 13, but it is not a secret that a lot of people already have the game early. The Call of Duty street date seems to be broken year after year, but we don’t really mind that if it means we get more juicy teases like this each time.
Earlier on, we gave you a fantastic look at a full round of Green Run zombies, but now we’re switching focus to the Black Ops 2 multiplayer maps. Not including Nuketown 2025, there is going to be 14 base maps to play and images of each loading screen have already found their way online, and reuploaded by the guys over at CharlieIntel.
The 14 Black Ops 2 maps in question are: Aftermath, Cargo, Meltdown, Overflow, Yemen, Carrier, Drone, Plaza, Promenade, Turbine, Express, Hijacked, Raid and Standoff. The variety at a glance looks really impressive and we ourselves have already had the chance to check out Turbine during an early preview in London.
That map bears a little similarity to Afghan from MW2, and based on the loading image for Express, we would say that there may be some elements of Terminal thrown into that map as well. There are so many popular maps from previous games it has to be said, so we don’t blame Treyarch if they have borrowed some ideas from Infinity Ward.
What other maps have similarities from previous COD games in your opinion? As mentioned above, there is no image of Nuketown 2025 yet, as that map will be available as a free download from respective online stores as part of your pre-order – it’s not on the disc.
Is the futuristic Black Ops 2 multiplayer mode going to end up the best ever, based on this 14 map variety, with lots of maps to come later via DLC? We can’t wait for November 13 to come along so we can really spend some quality time on these maps. Let us know which map you are most looking forward to playing, based on these image previews. Don’t forget to check out the full set of Black Ops 2 prestige emblems here.
