Can the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 possibly get any better? The Android Jelly Bean handset is already top of many consumer wish lists at the moment, but if you want to pimp out your Note 2 even more, you probably want to consider the pricey, but very cool Smart Dock from Samsung.
Unlike other official Galaxy Note 2 accessories which usually start selling after the device goes on sale, this one is available to buy right now and has been for a few days already. The Smart Dock essentially turns your already PC-capable Note 2 into a media powerhouse, allowing you to hook up the phone to an external monitor and turn it into a portable PC as Note 2 duties become even more easier on a bigger screen.
The Smart Dock is equipped with a plethora of connectivity options, including 3 USB ports, 1 mini USB port, an HDMI port and even a 1080p video output as well. On top of that there’s a 3.5mm jack to connect your sound system up to the Note 2, meaning that if you want to watch a nice video you’ve taken on the device – you can on a big screen.
Being a dock primarily, don’t forget that it will also charge your Note 2 while performing all of the above tasks. Another impressive bonus of the accessory is that it will still dock your phone if you are using an official flip case or similar slim case for the Note 2. How many times do manufacturers design docks, but don’t think about the millions of people that already have their phone enclosed inside a case – so nice thinking from Samsung here.
As we mentioned above, the one big issue here is the price, as the Smart Dock is going to cost a cool $100 to take one home. It’s available in either black or white, but is it a little too expensive to consider, despite the multiple features it offers? We think it is fairly pricey as well, but then again it looks like a real quality product, so you’ll get what you pay for on this instance.
Have you already picked up a Smart Dock for your Note? If so, would you recommend it to others?
