Apple’s October 2012 press event, invites imminent

By Updated on

When it comes to Apple’s press event for October 2012 it shouldn’t be too hard to discredit certain rumors, especially when looking at when Apple should send out the October event invitations for a certain date to actually happen. If the recent rumors of Oct 23 are correct for Apple to launch some new products, then we’re really close to seeing some more invites.

It wasn’t too long ago when we saw a rumor emerge from Apple 2.0 about this month’s media event, which claimed invites would be sent out 4 days ago, and of course this didn’t happen. If the multiple sources pointing to an Apple event on Oct 23 are correct, then we should see invitations arriving with press on the 15th or 16th. Just like most press events, including the iPhone 5, you will see a 7 or 8-day gap between invitation and event date.

There are a number of rumors surrounding the products likely to be at Apple’s next event, which the iPad mini is an almost certain and could share the stage with a new iMac and 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. It is worth pointing out that Apple hasn’t confirmed this event or any new product names, so the new iPad we expect to be there could be named “Mini“, “Air“, or something else. Do you like the name iPad mini for a new Apple tablet?

What would you like to see on Apple’s October event invitations? You can see pictures of the iPhone 5 invite here and above, which included a subtle hint towards the new iPhone name, so we are likely to see something similar with the iPad mini name if this will indeed be one of the new products.

Bottom-line: If Apple’s October 2012 press event is to be on the 23rd then you can count on seeing invites within the next 3 days, which is almost certain when you look at the history of Apple events going back years. Our prediction for the iPhone 5 invites had been spot on, and if the rumored date for this upcoming event is correct then we expect this prediction to be spot on as well, so keep connected to PR and we’ll post the invite images when the announcement is made.

We’ve seen Samsung upstage Apple announcements a few times this year when it comes to new products, and considering Microsoft’s Windows 8 launch this month we could see Apple trying to still some of their thunder with an event just a couple of days before. iPad Mini is such a crappy name. Air is better but confusing from a brand/technology stand point I.e. confuses differentiation between Mac OS X and iOS product lines. Something entirely new would be better. iPad Pocket, iPad Go, iPad Novel blah de blah…
