Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean meets update list

After a few teases it is now clear that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is seeing a rollout of Jelly Bean, aka Android 4.1, although this upgrade has been focused on just Europe for now and is leaving some users in the US feeling a little left out. There have been a number of suggestions as to why the US is being put second, and these include a possibility that a smaller group of Samsung Galaxy S3 devices need to be tested with Jelly Bean before launching it to the US.

Seasoned Samsung smartphone owners knew the Galaxy S3 would see the Jelly Bean update after most European countries, which has been Samsung’s track record for some time now. We’ve also heard a few claims that the US carriers are partly to blame about the slower rollout as well, although this is just speculation.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean meets Android 4.1 update list – last week we started to get word on certain devices next in-line for the Jelly Bean update, and of course the Galaxy S3 had made that list. You can see an in-depth Android 4.1 upgrade list in this article, which details not only the devices that have Jelly Bean already but also those that are expected to receive the software next and some that are unlikely to see it at all.

We got word from Samsung in the last 24 hours that not only will the Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update be rolled out slowly to areas outside of Europe, but also what devices are next expected to receive Android 4.1 next. These include the Galaxy S DUOS, Galaxy Mini 2, Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Chat/Music, Galaxy S II/LTE, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy Note/10.1, and the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1/7.0.

Did your Samsung smartphone make the Jelly Bean update list? This news has left some smartphone owners wondering where their device is, and upset if they’re left out in the cold. It is fair to say that we should wait a little longer before discounting all other Samsung smartphones for the Android 4.1 upgrade, although we’ll keep you updated when we got more information.
