iPhone 5 price in UK at O2, Vodafone, and Orange

We are now two hours away from the UK launch of iPhone 5, which means thousands of people are leaving right now to line-up at stores across the UK in the hope of buying the iPhone 5 on its release day. We’ll be heading to our local O2 store in the next few moments to join the queue, and while this is 2 hours before the store opening time it should be enough and nothing like the days of queuing seen at flagship Apple stores around the world.

One of the benefits of buying the iPhone 5 at an Apple Store would be owning an unlocked phone, which is unlikely to be the case when you pickup an iPhone 5 at O2, Vodafone, or Orange. They’d want to sell you a contract and even if you buy the device outright they won’t sell unlocked iPhone 5′s. We want to be hands-on at the UK launch, the reason we are joining the party at O2′s door, and we’ll be able to report the exact deal in the next couple of hours.

The UK iPhone 5 price at O2, Orange, and Vodafone – You can read O2′s deal for the iPhone 5 here, which delivers a simple point and click form that narrows down your options. This starts with finding out if you’re already on O2 or not, and then the type of payment system you want, what color, and finally the storage size you want. Pay & Go ranges from £10 to £20, and iPhone 5 contract deals start from £26 a month.

Orange start their pay monthly deals at £36.00 per month, and Vodafone starts with £42 per month on a 24-month contract, which is for the 16GB iPhone 5. You can read a full rundown of the prices here, which detail options from O2, Vodafone, and Orange.

O2 make a promise with iPhone 5 – they state that “everyone” can get a new iPhone 5 on the launch day, so this certainly means we can buy the device outright but again it is very doubtful any O2 store would sell a completely unlocked device. O2 also make a promise when it comes to upgrading to the new 4G iPhone 5 that would work with O2′s 4G service next year, and this would likely be a different device that can support this. You can see that promise in the image below.

Will you be picking up the iPhone 5 at a store today, and if so how long before the 8am launch did you start queuing?
