Now that the iPhone 5 launch date is almost here it is time for a countdown, and while time might feel like it is slowing down in anticipation for the Apple announcement, we wanted to offer an iPhone 5 countdown for the event launch date thanks to the widget we’ve embedded on this page.
This will be a countdown to the Apple event on Sept 12, explained in the invitation article here, and this event will see a keynote that acts as the launch for the iPhone 5, or new iPhone as some leaked images might reveal. The event is being held in San Francisco at 10AM local time. This works out at 6PM in the UK, although the timer below will reach zero the moment Apple’s iPhone 5 event starts, so feel free to bookmark this page if you are not sure what time that will be for you.
Below the iPhone 5 launch countdown, not release date but time to event, we have included a couple of videos that claim to reveal iPhone 5 features. The first shows the new phone booting up next to the current 4S model, which also offers a great look at the differences in screen sizes between the two models.
The second video claims to be a hands-on with the new iPhone 5, and while it is hard to believe this is a real iPhone 5, it is pretty convincing and we can’t wait until the upcoming event to see if it really had been. There’s a problem with the amount of leaks we’ve seen this year, and that is many of these could be mockups created from what is believed to be the new design, and would obviously include many copies based on some real leaked parts.
The countdown for the iPhone 5 launch date can be seen below, which will stop when the event starts, although if you are wondering when the release date will be then you can pretty much be certain of it being from Sept 21st considering the vacation blackout.
