We made the prediction when the Apple iPhone 5 event invites would be sent out just a few days ago, although it has been rumored for some time that there is a press conference on September 12. The prediction we made a few days ago had been thanks to looking at Apple’s last two events, which both showed invites for their keynote were sent out around 7 to 8 days before, so this had to be today or tomorrow.
Meet the Apple iPhone 5 event invitation – numerous blogs are starting to receive the invites and as you can see on this page, the image is thanks to The Loop, the invitation for Apple’s September event is extremely simple and less graphic than those in the past. It features a simple “12” for the date, and also some text stating, “It’s almost here“, which clearly points to a singular device.
The Apple event will focus on a new product called iPhone 5 – we might have expected this name in the past, some people couldn’t understand it considering this is the 6th generation iPhone, but we feel the name “iPhone 5” has been confirmed thanks to the shadow on the invitation. The image below shows a close-up of the shadow, which clearly shows a “5” and considering this event is all about the iPhone, do we need to say more?
The Apple iPhone 5 event location will be in San Francisco, at the Yerba Buena Center, which will start at 10AM PST and 6PM in the UK. This is pretty much the normal time for most Apple events, especially those that involve a new iPhone. We will follow-up shortly with worldwide times for most cities around the world, so check back to see that information and a collection of live blogs.
We’ve known about the likely screen size for months and some potential iPhone 5 buyers might not welcome it, but considering the amount of leaks you should expect the 4-inch longer screen to become a reality at the upcoming press conference. You can see the majority of rumors for the new iPhone 5 via this page, which includes some crucial details for the upcoming device. Some brands have invested a lot of time and money getting ready for the next Apple phone, and this meant banking on these rumors with add-ons.
The iPhone 5 release date has been confirmed with the same solidarity as the prediction for next weeks Sept 12 event, which is thanks to both AT&T and Verizon putting a ban on any holidays being taken between certain dates. This pretty much nailed the release week although an exact launch date for the iPhone 5 is yet to be confirmed.
Can you think of anything else the “Five” means on Apple’s event invitation? In our opinion it will be the iPhone 5 that everyone expected last year, which the lack of features ended up delivering a product named “4S“. The iPhone 5 will deliver in so many ways where the last generation missed, and mix this with iOS 6 and we have something truly special that we can’t wait to get hands-on with. You can read some of the latest iOS 6 news and rumors via this page, although we’d love to know what you are looking forward to the most from the upcoming keynote?
It is worth noting that a number of blogs are claiming the iPhone 5 is coming next week, which is not true considering this is the Apple event and launch platform but not the release date. As we stated above the carriers blocking holidays are pinning the release week to be starting Sept 21. Have you been holding out on an upgrade for this news?
