The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is seemingly close to an official unveiling by Samsung and we have one exciting picture to show you which gives you a great taste of things to come. It has been suggested that the Note 2 will be equipped with a 5.5-inch beast of a display, but now we have an indication of what the home button will look like as well.
To recap for those that haven’t been following the Galaxy Note 2 release saga, we are expecting to see the elusive device at a Samsung event on August 29 in Germany. Samsung are obviously keeping their cards close to their chest and haven’t even offically acknowledged the device yet, but the picture above appears to be clear evidence that the highly anticipated phablet is on the way.
The image has been provided by French site NowhereElse and appears to have been taken inside Samsung’s factories as hinted by the lab style boots you can see in the picture. That’s obviously not the highlight on show though, as it looks like the bezel shown is measured in at 5.5-inches – the exact measurement that has been speculated in the past.
You may not be a fan of large home screen buttons, but it looks like the Note 2 may have one. It also looks like it is going to be of the oval-shaped variety and won’t feature the squared off edges that the home button on the original Galaxy Note had.
Samsung obviously feels that a bigger home screen button is required to accomodate the bigger screen, so perhaps you are willing to let Samsung off on this occasion when large home screens are usually frowned upon. That really is a monster display screen we’re looking at though if this is really the Note 2. Let us know your thoughts on the home screen button change.
