It’s fair to say that a lot of people are very interested in picking up Apple’s elusive iPhone 5 smartphone. We recently told you how the iPhone 5 had the jump on the Galaxy S3 in predicted sales, but now we have the results of a recent survey in relation to the seemingly forgotten about ‘Mini iPad’.
All the talk has naturally been on Apple’s new iPhone, so it’s perhaps a bit understanding why people may not be aware that a new smaller iPad is also heavily rumored to drop before the end of the year.
To give you a refresh of what is thought to be coming, the likes of the WSJ and Bloomberg have both said that Apple is prepping a 7-8 inch version of the iPad, one which may be unveiled without the inclusion of a Retina Display. This is due to Apple perhaps opting to finally bring out an affordable version of their iPad, which would obviously put it along side the Kindle Fire and new Nexus 7 as both sell for $199.
While this will be appealing to a lot of consumers, a recent survey has suggested that most are just concerned about the new iPhone 5. A periodic survey conducted by CouponCodes4u has concluded that almost 80% of 1873 people plan to buy the iPhone 5 ahead of a 7-inch Mini iPad.
What Apple may be most worried about though, is the reason these polled consumers gave on why they would choose the iPhone 5. Almost 80% of them said that it would be ‘pointless’ picking up the smaller iPad, because they already owned the standard version.
This is obviously a logical reason why many won’t be interested in a smaller iPad, so Apple are definitely going to have to lower that price we feel if they are going to have an impact against other smaller tablets on the market.
With all of the talk on the upcoming iPhone refresh, do you agree that picking up a 7-inch iPad would be pointless? If so, what price would make you change your mind?
