Sony’s GamesCom 2012 live stream delight

By Updated on

We have some good news for those of you who are looking forward to this year’s GamesCom event in Germany. It takes place later this month and Sony has just dropped some great news that they’ll be providing a live stream for everyone to tune in together.

It means that just like their E3 keynote in June, you’ll be able to watch all of the new announcements and unveilings as they happen live on stage. Sony’s GamesCom presser this year takes on added significance this time around as it has already been confirmed that new ips are due to be announced for the very first time.

Sony has also confirmed that they’ll use the event to give the PS Vita some more spotlight after previously being held back at E3, which the company came under considerable criticism for. Expect to see some new characters for PlayStation All-Stars announced, while we hope that there is some new PS Vita game announcements coming as well, and finally some solid details on Black Ops: Declassified.

If you’re planning to watch the live stream, you’ll need to note that it takes place on Tuesday August 14 at 18:00 BST. Sony usually announce some pretty tasty things at GamesCom so we have a feeling you won’t want to miss out on this. Will we see that rumored new PS3 Slim 4000 model or not?

We’d also like to see some new games announced which feature cross-platform play with the PS3 and Vita. Removing PC-PS3 cross play with Counter-Strike Global Offensive was a huge disappointment for us, so let’s hope that Sony has some replacements lined up.

What would you like to see at GamesCom?
