Best PS Vita games to revive system

By Updated on

Are you still playing your PS Vita regularly, or is it now starting to gather dust after you grew tired of waiting for some new games to release? If it’s the latter, you probably have one game in mind that is going to make you start playing again.

After picking up our PS Vita in December when it first launched, we’re disappointed to say the least on how it has panned out after such an impressive launch lineup. Sony really nailed it with the terms of selection and quantity of games that they had on offer, but since then we’ve had a few notable releases and nothing else.

E3 was a huge disappointment given the fact that we didn’t see much Vita action, but at least Sony admitted this and said that they agreed it was a area that could have been improved. The good news is that GamesCom 2012 and the Tokyo Game Show in September are on the horizon and we should get a fresh look at the latest software titles that will be landing on the new handheld in the near future.

It’s fair to say that Black Ops: Declassified is the one game that is going to make everyone start playing their Vita again. If we were to pick out one obscure title, we’d also predict that DJ Max Technika Tune is going to be a hidden gem as well. Not many people know about the popular Korean rhythm franchise, but if you’ve played previous titles on the PSP, you’ll know that the replayability of these type of games are plain value for money.

Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation should be another game to look out for, while the likes of Final Fantasy X HD and Phantasy Star Online 2 are definite hardware sellers. At the moment though, the PS Vita has been ignored and console games are taking preference.

Are you in the same situation with your Vita? Let us know your thoughts on the lack of new games and what title is going to make you start playing the system again.

The lack of games is so frustrating its like Sony is just going to let the ps vita die with out a fight, come Sony get a finger out and save the vita

I imported a Vita a month before it released. Sadly, for that month, it was an expensive paper weight. Since then, I’ve picked up Uncharted, MGS, and Gravity Rush. Good games, but what I want to see come to the Vita include CoD, a Fallout game, an original FF, an original RE, and Dead Space (be they ports of 1, 2, or the iOS/Android version or all new). Titles like these, and like now, would really boost the system. From a technical standpoint, it’s an impressive piece of hardware. From a software stand point, I’ll take a 3DS any day.

The Vita game I want is LittleBigPlanet. That will be like getting a lot of games. I hope it comes out soon. It was supposed to be out in June.

I’m so sick of people whining about the lack of new Vita games. It’s the summertime FFS. You know, the game release drought. Would they be happy if Sony held back a few games from the launch lineup and released them throughout the year instead? We don’t need a new high profile Vita exclusive released every week. It would be nice, but it’s too much to ask.

Don’t these people have other systems to play inbetween Vita releases or do they just NEED new content to play on their Vita all day everyday? Maybe if all you have to game on is the Vita and you’ve finished all the good games released so far then I guess you would complain. Even then, there’s tons of PSP games and PS minis to play on your Vita. The current Vita library should be enough to get you by until the holiday when more games release.

Don’t get me wrong, I think Sony could do better, but people are being way too hard on Sony as usual. There’s been more than enough good Vita exclusives released so far and the Vita has a great holiday season full of games ahead of it.

What title will make me start playing my Vita again. Well, I never stopped playing it in the first place, but my most anticipated game is LittleBigPlanet PS Vita. I don’t wanna hear anymore bitching about having nothing to play on Vita after it releases because LBP games last forever and then some.

    How ’bout a Kingdom Hearts.

I’m in the exact same state with my Vita. I’ve bought all the vita games i could get, and there is still nothing i play, only a few minutes of playing and then away again. We really need some AAA titles to show us why we should buy this console for a lot of money. It should be entertaining, but it’s not.
