Skyrim Dawnguard beta attracts bogus DLC keys

Bethesda partnered with Xbox Live to offer some Skyrim Dawnguard beta invites within the last couple of weeks, and these keys were sent out to a limited number of Xbox 360 users. Those that didn’t get in have already shown their frustration online, although we do wonder if this is for the fact they wanted to help release the Skyrim DLC with less bugs, or the idea of free content appealed to them?

You will always find someone wanting to cash in on a need, and sadly they will offer something that does not deliver just to attract people, which is what we seem to be seeing today via a YouTube video. The video below this article had been uploaded to the popular video sharing website within the last 24 hours, and claims they can help Skyrim fans get a free Dawnguard beta key if you follow certain steps.

Most competitions ask for you to perform a simple task like writing a comment, but this user is asking for you to like the video, subscribe, and then send a private message. While this shouts “bogus” to us, we cannot confirm of deny its authenticity, so feel free to leave a comment with your opinion below. This video highlights a much bigger issue, which you can see when you look online for free Dawnguard beta invites and find a lot of websites trying to cash in on the desire to be in the beta.

Would you ever trust any claim surrounding Skyrim Dawnguard beta invites, which has not come from Microsoft or Bethesda directly? In our experience you should only trust the official source, and if you’re looking for some solid details from the Skyrim Dawnguard beta then you might want to see our earlier article, which explains some details on the werewolves, vampires, and their new skill trees. The official Xbox 360 release date is set for June 26, so if you’re a PS3 user then you might want to pop and see a friend until it launches on your system shortly after.

I already paid for the 1600 microsoft points for the Dawnguard purchase. I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t picked but at the same time I’m relieved that there are no news of bugs that seem to hamper the dlc so at least it’s guaranteed to be released without problems and I have the means to purchase it. A free Dawnguard is obviously a hoax
