Rumored Galaxy Note 2 specs to take on iPhone 5 in Q4 war

By Updated on

If you thought the Samsung Galaxy Note was an impressive device, you are really going to like the latest rumors coming out of Korea. Speculation has begun that Samsung are already planning a Galaxy Note 2 and it will be their Q4 device that will go head-to-head with the iPhone 5 from Apple.

Despite early concerns that there wasn’t a market for the smartphone / tablet combination, Samsung actually changed that perception with the Galaxy Note, which many consumers have now taken a particular liking to. That 5.3-inch screen is just fabulous for watching movies on, while the addition of a stylus and other nifty applications make it a great little organiser to for those business minded consumers.

Now prepare for a another iteration of the Galaxy Note, as Korean publication MK Business News has said that the Galaxy Note 2 will be out some time in October and will pack some next-generation hardware specs to boot. It apparently features an ‘unbreakable’ UBP display and may even end up with a screen size larger than its 5.3-inch predecessor.

We could also see the same quad-core Exynos processor that is featured in the international Galaxy S3, while a 12 megapixel camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at launch will make this a very formidable device indeed. While the latest version of Android will be a big attraction, we have a feeling that this unbreakable display may prove to be a key selling point – especially for those consumers that have already checked out damage tests for the Galaxy S3.

The iPhone 5 will probably be able to fend off any fight from competing devices, but you can’t argue that both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and this new Galaxy Note 2 would make the land of Android a very exciting place to be at the end of the year. This Galaxy Note 2 already looks more impressive than the S3 based on these early rumored specs. Let’s hope we see some more details soon.

Would you choose the Galaxy Note 2 ahead of the next-generation iPhone 5?

You just wanted to say iPhone 5

This is stupid….I appreciate the rumors, but the Note 2 and iPhone 5 will be targeting COMPLETELY different markets. Both will have their die-hard fans, but seeing who has more is like saying “Do more people like convertibles than SUVs…?”

well I am considering both. I like apple software, but I do a lot of browsing on the phone so the larger screen suits me. If it has a decent camera and fast processor I might just go for the note II

Apple is missing the market by not offering a larger display.  They have a user friendly interface but many older people have trouble viewing such a small display when compared to some Android devices.
