Battlefield 3 conquest with a dose of reality

A few months ago, you may remember us showing you a rather cool Battlefield 3 video, which was shot in a live action setting and took inspiration from Google’s new Project Glass technology. If you loved what you saw then, you’ll be pleased to hear that the guys behind that video are back again with their latest effort and it’s another beauty.

The video, from ThereIsACanal, shows how the popular BF3 game mode Conquest could work in a real-life setting – obviously just for amusement purposes. The clip uses some of the famous sound effects and equipment seen in the game to excellent effect, even for example the nabbing of a pair of dog tags to simulate that a knife kill has been performed.

The action really picks up at 1:10 though when we see a tank enter the scene and take out one of the US marines. We then see the remaining member call in air support and then you’ll see that they have brilliantly included the BF3 lock-on system to target the tank. After a last ditch revive using the defibrillator, the day is saved and the boys live on – to hopefully make another awesome video.

While this video is good, we still think that the original clip with the Google Glasses is the most impressive, particularly since it perhaps gives an indication on what may be possible in the future with regards to gaming and virtual reality. Google are obviously still preparing this technology before showing it to the public, but we do hope that they are seriously thinking on the gaming side of things as well.

Check out this new real life conquest clip below and let us know your thoughts on it. Did you enjoy it, or is it slightly too cheesy in your opinion?
