We’ve seen a number of popular Android apps release this month, and look forward to what June has to offer, although some people might wonder what the best Android apps are for this month? Rather than show you a top download chart, you can see that on Google Play, we’d like to point out two of our favourites. These are the Bump app, popular on iOS for a while, and also another app called Sidecar.
The Sidecar app for Android, also on iPod touch and iPhone, aims to help your phone become smarter when you’re on a call. Some people are bad at multitasking; although Sidecar wants to make you better at it with the ability to Whisper Text, send contact information, locations, photos, and more via a rotary-style interface. The app delivers free calls to other Sidecar users anywhere in the world, and one of the biggest selling points is the “See What I See video” feature, which is pretty much self explanatory. If you want to learn more then visit the official Google Play page, see a quick hands-on here, or watch the video below this article for a visual introduction.
If you know anyone with an iOS device then you might have heard about “Bump” already, which basically allows you to bump a couple of phones together to exchange information. This could be your contacts, photos, app recommendations, and more between not only Android devices but also other popular mobile phone platforms. Bump got an update a couple of days ago, which took the app to version 3.3.0 and can be downloaded for free via Google Play.
The Apple App Store also received an update to v3.3 for Bump last week, and new features include the ability to send photos a computer and save them to your hard drive, all simplified thanks to Bump. If you’re an Android user and want to see a list of the best apps to release in the last week of May, then see this article that details five of the best.
