BF3 Close Quarters DLC destruction needed on console too

In the midst of the excitement and confusion regarding Battlefield Premium, EA has shifted attention back towards its upcoming DLC expansion pack for Battlefield 3. A new destruction video is out for Close Quarters, giving players an idea of the carnage they’ll be able to achieve during gameplay.

Close Quarters is finally upon us and for regular Battlefield 3 players, the new content can’t arrive soon enough since Back to Karkand is starting to feel a little dated now. Along with the four new maps that Close Quarters will offer, players can also unlock 10 new weapons thanks to 10 new assignments that DICE are adding to the game.

Hopefully the requirements won’t need players to spend time on the less-played Squad Deathmatch mode, but actually involve some hard-thought out assignements to really make some of those weapons worth the effort. As for the destruction elements in Close Quarters, it’s not the first time that DICE has advertised the destruction in this new pack, but hopefully it is the last.

There’s not much to say here, only that you’ll be able to blow each map to complete smithereens as you participate in frantic gun battles. We know two of the maps as Ziba Tower and Donya Fortress, so DICE will be revealing the final two maps at E3 in a few days time we expect.

What we want to know is if DICE will be extending these special ‘destruction’ features on console as well. It’s no secret that PC is the lead platform, but it will be nice if console players get to enjoy this level of destruction too. We don’t see any actual walls getting knocked down, so we hope that is possible on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

How important is destruction to you in a Battlefield game? Bad Company 2 was famous for its over the top destruction, so perhaps DICE are trying to bring a little bit of that back.

    “Dice is”, not “Dice are”.

PS3 and XBox 36 are not powerful enough. Its 7 year old tech. If you want the full visual experience of destruction and better graphics, pony up the cash and build yourself a gaming PC. Its annoying that consoles are whats holding back the video game industry due to hardware limitations.
