If you are a Droid RAZR or RAZR MAXX user on Verizon and are looking forward to Motorola’s incoming Ice Cream Sandwich update, we have some good news for you. Motorola has released a series of videos, giving consumers an early preview of how your handset will look once it has been given an update to Android 4.0.
Earlier on we gave you the bad news regarding the lack of an update for the Xperia Play, but it’s a more happier story for Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX users. There’s still no official date sadly, but the update is thought to be happening some time over the Summer.
To get you warmed up with what’s to come, Motorola has shown how the interface differs between Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich and as you can imagine, there’s quite a few notable differences. For starters, there’s a brand new lock screen available, giving you the option of unlocking the device to head into a specific shortcut like contacts. Just like the iPhone, you’ll now be able to control your music playback whilst the handset is still locked.
One interesting new addition should delight those that like to shoot videos on the Droid RAZR or RAZR MAXX. Motorola has added the ability to take a quick picture in high resolution whenever you are capturing video footage. It’s not a major feature, but a nice little touch nevertheless.
Check out the series of videos below and let us know which one you’ll be using the most. The new lock screen is the feature that sticks out for us, but are any of you still wondering if the Droid RAZR will be on the list to receive an update to Android 5.0 Jelly Bean? Probably a long shot right?
