We’ve seen the Apple Store go down already in the last few days, which had been due to an update for the new iPad but seeing the store go down today seems a little unexpected. This has led to a number of our readers wondering what Apple could be doing, although we’d like to point out sometimes the Apple Store will come back up with no visible changes.
It wouldn’t be the first time Apple take their online store down for behind the scenes preparation, and with their new iPad launching in the UK, US, and a few other countries it’s likely nothing more than getting ready for that launch.
When Apple really makes us happy with a new product – there has been a lot of rumor over the last few weeks concerning a new iMac, which we speculated on yesterday with the necessity of SSD as standard. We would welcome a surprise from Apple like a new iMac, and while this is unlikely we know it’s coming very soon.
We’ll update you with any new developments, and if there is a new product you can count on us giving you the juicy details. In the meantime jump to the comments and let us know the product you would want to appear on Apple’s Store if something did show up in the next few hours?
Update: As expected the Apple Store returned without new products meaning this downtime has been used for other things, which could be related to the 3rd generation iPad launching tomorrow.
