PES 2012 adds January transfer update, bonus free DLC

By Updated on

FIFA 12 players are now getting tucked into the game with the fresh January Transfer updates that have now been put in place, and we’re pleased to say that the ‘other’ game, PES 2012 is also getting a dose of the same treatment next week.

Konami has just announced that the January transfer updates will be implemented into the game on March 6 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game. As we told you when we were speaking about the update for FIFA, it will now mean that PES players will be able to call on the likes of Paul Scholes for Manchester United, and Papiss Demba Cisse for Newcastle.

At the moment, there’s no word on if the update will alter any player stats such as making Fernando Torres less effective in game in accordance with his form for Chelsea at the moment, or if the game will be making Robin Van Persie even better.

You’ll also be pleased to hear that the transfer updates are not the only thing that is coming to PES 2012 for free. The update will also include brand new kits for the Spanish, Japanese and German national teams, as well as eight new boot styles to choose over from Nike and Adidas. As one further treat, Konami has also said that the update will add the Adidas Finale Munich ball to the game, which is meant to be the ball that will be used for this year’s Champions League Final.

Are you still playing PES 2012 regularly? There’s a lot of talk now that FIFA 12 is superior in every way, which is a little bit disappointing since PES used to be the football game of choice a few years ago.

I’ve always been a PES fan and I’ve bought every single one they’ve made but after playing this latest installment I’m very disappointed. For starters updates are few and far between and it’s mesmerizing to think it took them two months after the premier league transfer window before they released the update. Then they got rid of 2 vs 2 match mode online which means if you have  friend with you then you can’t play online.
I’m not too sure if I’ll be buying the next version of the game and you can see why people have been turning to FIFA.

You can play 2v2 online (the same as last edition). I play with a friend a few times a week
). Also, the transfer update patch is always available halfway February/
start of March.  That is because different countries have different
transfer deadlines, not all end in January.

I have played both till last year. I prefer PES, but FIFA is hyped so much by EA sports that many people honestly think it is the superior game. Too bad, PES really rocks this year after Its (I must say) dissapointing predecessor. That does not mean FIFA sucks, off course. I played FIFA a lot in 2009 and 2010, and liked it. It’s just a matter of personal preference. Liking one of both doesn’t make the other a bad game. They both had good reviews, and that says much imo.

i was a die hard pes loyalist until this years game, i started playin n the goalkeepers are just awful and the ball physics that kept me playing pes 2011 are different, the ball moves to weird the shooting is clunky it made me rage i cant believe konami killed the pes series………bastards!!!!!!!!!!!!!, so i thought id give fifa 12 a go and it is better than pes 12 once you adjust the settings like pass speed n shot speed.ill never play pes again they always promise better gameplay and nether deliver whilst fifa are actually improving there game.
