This past weekend was a happy one for PC Skyrim players, as Bethesda last week announced a solid release date for the highly anticipated Creation Kit. We now have an update to give you on when to expect a release time, although there’s still no indication on what that super secret surprise is yet.
If you’re not familiar with the Creation Kit, you really should be. It will give clever PC modders the opportunity to create some custom Skyrim content which is really limitless depending on a user’s imagination.
Bethesda has given us a hint of what to expect, but some of the obvious mods that are likely to become available thanks to the Creation Kit can include things like brand new quests to complete, new towns to explore and of course new items and weapons to utilize. There really is no limits to the creation kit as users who played the PC version of Oblivion will probably tell you.
So when’s it coming out? We knew that it will be available to download sometime on Tuesday 7th February, but that is all gamers were given by Pete Hine’s Tweet last week. Now though, we have an update to bring you from the official Bethesda Blog Twitter account, as according to one Tweet, we can expect the Creation kit to become available sometime during the afternoon, Eastern Time. That means anytime after 9am Pacific Time and anytime after 5pm for those of you in the UK.
This isn’t a confirmation of course, let’s get that straight – but rather an indication of when to expect the download to become available. It’s great that Bethesda has given PC users an update regarding this, as if saves thousands of you frantically pressing that refresh button on Steam to see if the update is available.
So there we have it. If you are pumped up for the release of the Creation Kit, let us know what sort of things you intend to create in Skyrim with the new tools. We can’t wait to see some new quests up on Steam.
