Instagram for Android wait is almost over

By Updated on

With the amount of users now on the Android platform you would have thought that developers with successful iOS applications would be falling over themselves to get their product into the Android Market. Finally it seems the wait for Android users is almost over and the Instagram app could be on the OS soon.

Only a few days ago we told you about the massive demand for the app on the Android platform from a number of users. Admittedly there are a variety of alternatives available already on Android, but some users want the real thing. The team behind the app confirmed months ago they were working on a version for Android but never put up a release date.

That wait may soon be over as according to an article over at the Android Community, which is reporting that a user got a notification about the Instagram app on his Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. He tried to download the application but the Android Market link was broken, but it may mean the app is almost available.

This may mean that two highly successful iOS apps could be hitting the Android Market this month, as only yesterday we told you that the much loved game Temple Run is set to release this month. Recently a fake Instagram app appeared on the Android Market and even had star ratings, but was quickly taken down.

Hopefully we will have some official news about the Instagram app very soon. Are you looking forward to receiving a release date for Android’s Instagram app?

both temple run and instagram were published on the market by the same developer and were both classified as malware since all they did was providing you with ad-ware, recommending other apps!
