There is a lot of talk on the elusive Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone at the moment, a device which is still very much unofficial at this point. We thought we would be seeing the device at MWC next month, but it has now become apparent that consumers will have to wait much longer to get their first glimpse of the device.
It was just yesterday that we told you that Samsung may have already lined up a suitable replacement for their MWC 2012 event, that being a so called ‘next generation’ Galaxy Tab which will come equipped with a 2.0Ghz dual-core processor.
Now though we have some more juicy details to bring you on the Galaxy S III as Samsung may have dropped the first big semi-official hint on the device by revealing that a new product is on the way this Summer. It turns out that Samsung will be one of the official sponsors of the London 2012 Olympics, and to celebrate this feat, Samsung’s marketing executive Younghee Lee has revealed that they will be releasing a new product in conjunction with the Olympics, as reported from Droid-Life.
Of course, it could be anything but considering there has already been a suspected delay for the Galaxy S III, you definitely couldn’t rule this out as being the product that Lee mentioned. It is a smart move by Samsung as well, considering just how many people will be tuning in to the Olympics this year – what better way for Samsung to plaster their Galaxy S III all over television screens while consumers are tuning into their favorite sports?
We wouldn’t mind if we don’t end up seeing the Samsung Galaxy S III during Summer, but we just hope that when the device is finally announced, it comes with a quad-core processor as you’ll probably agree that its one of the only remaining ‘wow’ factors that will bring genuine shock to a new smartphone unveil.
