There can quite often seem an overwhelming choice of digital cameras available especially in the compact sector. Today we have news that Sony reveals some new Cyber-shot digital cameras to further expand the lineup.
The company has announced three new models for the Cyber-shot model range, which will bring the number of new cameras this year to six. The DSC-WX50, DSC-WX70, and DSC-TX200V are all of the point and shoot variety, which according to PC Mag will be available this coming March. All of the new models will have 5x zoom lenses along with Exmor R CMOS sensors.
Both the WX50 and WX70 have a form factor that is almost identical with a 25- 25-125mm f/2.6-6.3 Carl Zeiss lens. They also have a sixteen megapixel sensor with 1080i 60 video recording capabilities, and optical image stabilization. On the back of the WX50 is a 2.7-inch 460k dot display can be found, which compares to the WX70 that has a bigger 3-inch 921k dot touch screen.
The price for the WX50 is $199.99 while the WX70 is slightly more expensive at $229.99. Meanwhile the DSC-TX200V is a totally new model and comes with an ultra-slim body with a glass front plate. This is an eighteen megapixel shooter with a 5x zoom lens, and also features 1080i60 video capture. There is also GPS, Carl Zeiss optics, and optical image stabilization.
OLED technology comes in the 3.3-inch touch screen, which promises a clear and bright image. It has been sealed against both dust and water damage, and offers an impressive autofocus time of only 0.01 second in bright light. In low light conditions it has an autofocus speed of only 0.02 seconds, and is compatible with microSD and Memory Stick Micro cards. This is set to sell for $499.99.
