The Samsung Galaxy S II has been a hugely successful device since it was released, with many regarding it as the best Android handset available. There have already been rumors of what its replacement may bring later this year with the proposed S3. Now there is news of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 HD that could be UK bound.
A teaser page appeared on a web page on UK online retailer MobiCity of the Samsung Galaxy S II HD, according to an article on Electronista. The gorgeous looking handset features a 4.65-inch screen with a 1280 x 720 resolution. The teaser page has since been removed from the site, but MobiCity’s other site in Australia is currently taking orders for the handset with instant dispatch.
The smartphone was launched in Samsung’s homeland last September, and the large screen is the same Super AMOLED unit that is found on the Galaxy Nexus minus the curved glass. It is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and has an eight-megapixel shooter that is found on the standard Galaxy S II.
Supplying the power to the unit is a 1,850 mAh battery that should provide up to twelve hours and forty minutes of talk time while on GSM, or up to five hours and fifty minutes while using 3G. The HD also comes with NFC capability built-in.
In Australia the GSM model is listed as the E120s and costs $749 AU for the SIM free version, which is around $773 US. There are other regions that provide the LTE version of the same handset. Do you like the look of the Samsung Galaxy S II HD?
